If your Google Ads account has no spend for more than 15 months, it will be automatically considered inactive and cancelled.
There are two main reasons why a Google Ads account may be cancelled:
1. A user with administrator privileges on your Google Ads account requests to cancel the account. 2. Your Google Ads account has been inactive for more than 15 months and has no spending.
If you manage other active Google Ads accounts, these accounts will not be affected by the cancellation of your inactive Google Ads account. In addition, if your account is cancelled due to inactivity, it will not be displayed in the associated Manager accounts unless you choose to unhide the cancelled account.
When a Google Ads account is cancelled, you will receive an email notification.
One month after the account is cancelled, your remarketing lists (including Customer Match) will be set to “Closed”. One month after that, all users in your remarketing lists will be removed and other accounts will not be able to use these lists. If there is any refundable credit left in the cancelled account, you should receive the refund within 4-12 weeks.
In the Ads account backend, you will also see an in-account notification informing you that your account has been cancelled, but you can reactivate the Ads account at any time by clicking “Reactivate” in the notification. Please note that only users with administrator privileges can reactivate a revoked Ads account.Go to the Ads dashboard Account Preferences and click on the Account Status section to expand it all.
Then click “Reactivate my account” to reactivate.
After reactivating the Ads account:
All ads or campaigns that were previously active will start running again.
For all ads or campaigns that were previously paused, they will only resume running after you reactivate them.
Finally, after you reactivate the Ads account, if the account remains inactive and no ads are run within 3 months, the account will be automatically revoked by the system again.
